Sugar Ray & Frankie
A little update on mama cat Frankie and her son, Sugar Ray!
They’re both doing really well, but aren’t quite ready for adoption just yet. Sugar Ray gave us a bit of a scare with a raspy, gurgling sound in his chest that worsened while he was on antibiotics. Chest X-rays thankfully showed nothing too serious, and with a new antibiotic on board, he’s finally starting to turn a corner.
Frankie has made remarkable progress with her confidence. She started off mostly hiding, and now she's become a really great snuggler! She’s come a long way. It’s been really special to watch the two of them play together. Single kittens can sometimes miss out on important social skills, but since Frankie is still quite young herself, these two behave more like siblings than mom and baby.
We’re not sure exactly when they’ll be ready for adoption. They still have a few health hurdles to clear, and Frankie is scheduled for her spay on May 7, so we’re hopeful it won’t be long after that. When they are ready, we’ll be looking for a home where they can stay together.
We’ve also learned that Frankie had a previous litter that sadly didn’t survive, making Sugar Ray her only surviving kitten. He’s a tough little guy who is just bursting with personality and spirit.
They’ll be posted once they’re available
If you would like to help support the costs of their care - we are happy for any donations of food, litter or toys!
They are currently eating Acana Kitten Canned Chicken & Tuna, Acana First Feast and they are using the Catit Pea Husk Litter which is safe for kittens, and dust free which will be helpful for their kitty colds.
