Blake

We have a really great cat who is now available for adoption, but he needs a very specific home.

Blake was adopted four years ago into a wonderful family with two children. Over time, however, he became increasingly stressed by the normal bustle of family life, such as changing schedules, birthday parties, sleepovers, and general activity. Although the family ensured Blake always had his own quiet, child-free space to retreat to, his stress continued to build.

When Blake began expressing his anxiety by urinating outside the litter box, the family worked closely with their veterinarian to rule out medical causes, including completing an ultrasound. Ultimately, they contacted us in accordance with the adoption contract, and together it was decided that rehoming Blake was the best decision for everyone involved.

Thankfully, Blake was able to return to the same foster home where he lived when he first came into our care four years ago!!! And, not surprisingly, he has had zero litter box issues since returning. This makes it very clear that Blake needs a calm, quiet, predictable environment with no children.

If you are considering applying for Blake, please think long-term. He is not comfortable living with children, and probably never will be. Our goal is to set him up for lifelong success and avoid another rehoming.

Blake’s previous home was loving, and the children were wonderful This is simply about finding the right environment for him. In a peaceful, adult-only home, Blake is so happy and loving and his beautiful personality shines. He will absolutely thrive in the right setting.

Check out this wonderful video where Blake shows off his favourite game - having a splash in some water! He'd love to be able to have some "tap moments" in his new home if you are willing!!!

If you think you might be a good match for Blake please complete an adoption application and tell us a little about yourself!
