Melanie (formerly Alfie)

Alfie came into our care as a stray. She was in rough shape, heavily pregnant, and gave birth to 3 stillborn, under-developed kittens. Within a few days of her giving birth we were called to help with some orphaned kittens whose mom had been killed. The kittens were only a few days old and Alfie immediately took to them and raised them until they were old enough to be adopted.  She was adopted by her foster home and continued to thrive. Oh, and by the way, she was renamed Melanie.
